PITTSFIELD, Ill. Lawrence M. "Tom" Bradburn, 93, of Pittsfield died at 6 p.m. Friday (Dec. 1, 2006) in the Barry Community Care Center.
He was born on March 30, 1913, in Pike County, a son of Charles T. and Rosa Fenton Bradburn. He married June A. Ellis on June 18, 1938 in Pike County. She preceded him in death on Nov. 1, 2001.
Mr. Bradburn worked for 42 years in the U.S. Post Office in Pittsfield and retired as a rural letter carrier. He was a veteran of the Navy, serving in World War II and the Korean Conflict.
Survivors include two sons, Charles (Marilyn) of St. Louis, John (Ruth) of Elgin; one daughter, Janet (George) Hollenback of Chillicothe; a sister, Charlene (Kenneth) Bergman of Pittsfield; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by three sisters and one brother.
Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday in the Niebur Funeral Home, Pittsfield. Pittsfield Lodge 790 A.F. & A.M. will conduct Masonic services at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday in the funeral home. Burial will be in Pittsfield Cemetery, Pittsfield.
Visitation will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday prior to services in the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to Pittsfield Lion's Club, American Heart Association, or Shriner's Hospital Fund St. Louis Unit.
