Mr. Huffman was born on March 22, 1927 in Palestine to Eddie Chatman Huffman and Addie Lue Woody Huffman. He was a Baptist and a brick mason.
He is survived by wife, Patricia Joan Perry Huffman of Palestine; sons, Richard Huffman, Mark Huffman and Craig (Tracy) Huffman and a special son, Pete Smith, all of Palestine; two sisters, Betty Jo Hoefling and Marie Mack, both of Palestine; eight grandchildren, Deena Davis, Daniel Huffman, Dustin Huffman, Misty Huffman, Mandie Sherrell, Justin Huffman, Deanna Huffman and Phillip Huffman; and 13 great-grandchildren.
Mr. Huffman was preceded in death by his parents, Eddie and Addie Lue Huffman; six siblings, Rosa Huffman, Navana Ritchey, Gene Huffman, Drucella Darwin, Lawrence Huffman and Lottie Chandler; and one grandson, Derric Huffman.
The family will have a private burial at a later date.

Derric (Diggs) Huffman
Graveside services for Derric (Diggs) Huffman, 26, of Palestine will be at 11 a.m. Monday, April 17, 2006 at Chapel of the Air at Land of Memory Cemetery with the Rev. Rick Dees officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Herrington/Land of Memory Funeral Home.
Mr. Huffman died Wednesday, April 12, 2006 at East Texas Medical Center in Tyler from injuries received in an automobile accident.
He was born April 16, 1979 in Palestine. He attended Westwood and Palestine schools. Derric loved to love and was a man of many trades. He was preceded in death by an aunt, Rhonda Johnson in Feb. 2006.
Survivors include his mother and step-father, Ramona and Thomas Perryman of Brownsboro; father, Richard Huffman of Elkhart; twin brother, Dustin Huffman and brother, Daniel Huffman and wife Jettie, all of Palestine; sisters, Deena Davis and Misty Huffman, all of Clute; grandparents Joan and Howard Huffman and Elizabeth and M.P. Blanton; and several nieces and nephews.
Honorary pallbearers will be James Sherrill, Timothy Westley, Shane Cretsinger, Tim Evans, Charles Armour, Zane Matthews and Rich Negethon.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Herrington/Land of Memory Funeral Home.
Notes for Logan John HUFFMANLogan was a pioneer of Anderson Co, TX. He married Nancy B. Epps 20 December 1871 on the Epps Plantation in York Co, SC. They came to Anderson County during the summer of 1882. They were the parents of fifteen children, eight were born in York County and seven were born in Harmony Community of Anderson County. Logan was a farmer and rancher. He owned a cotton gin and grist mill. He was the first USDA Service Extension Agent of Anderson County. He was promoted to District Agent in 1909. He and his family owned and operated a telephone system in the Harmony area.
