Chester Russell Butler, 72 died Monday, June 27, 1988, at Archer County Hospital. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, June 30 at Aulds Funeral Home with the Rev. Bobby King of Faith Memorial Baptist Church officiating. Burial will be in Archer City Cemetery.
Butler was born March 24, 1916, in Love County, Oklahoma. He had been a resident of Archer County since 1979. In 1978, he retired from Phillips Petroleum after 40 years. He and Anna Mae were married August 15, 1937, in Jacksboro, Texas. He was a Baptist.
Survivors include his wife; three sons, Jim of Douglas, Wy., Rick of Wichita Falls and Tom of Goodland, Kan.; one daughter, Patsy Horn of Wichita Falls; one brother, Johnny of Bryson, Texas; three sister, Mary Denning of Bryson. Estella Rhoades of Medford, Ore., and Bernice Keyser of Bryson; 15 grandchildren; and nine greatgrandchildren.
Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.

FORT STOCKTON Genia Lowther-Petit, 40, of Fort Stockton, passed away on Friday, March 13, 2009, at her home.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. on Wednesday, March 18, 2009, at the First Presbyterian Church with Reverend Dr. Jim Miles officiating. Burial will follow in the East Hill Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Shaffer-Nichols Funeral Home.
Genia was born on Jan. 11, 1969, in Odessa, Texas, to Ronald and Jeanne Petit. She had lived in Fort Stockton since 1994, moving there from San Angelo, Texas. Genia managed Sandy's and the Good Times Lounge in Fort Stockton; and she was a Christian.
She is survived by her daughter, Kourtney Lowther of Fort Stockton; her father, Ronald Petit of Houston; her grandfather, Nunley Warren of Fort Stockton; a brother, Ronnie Petit of Odessa; and a sister, Rhonda Garlick of Marathon.

W. R. Finley, 50 years old, teacher in the Springtown High School, died suddenly of a heart attack at his home in Springtown, Sunday evening at 8:30.
Mr. Finley was born and reared in the Springtown community, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Frank Finley, pioneers of Parker and Wise Counties.
Survivors are his wife and two sisters and five brothers as follows: Mrs. Walter Combs, Springtown, Mrs. Henry Horton, Paradise; Ben Finley, Decatur, Onie and Hanks Finley, Paradise; Charles Finley of Poolville, and Lewis Finley of Springtown. The funeral services were held from the Springtown Methodist Church, Monday afternoon at 2:30, with the pastor, Rev. D. E. McVey, officiating. Burial took place in Springtown Cemetery.

Funeral services for J .B. Gage, 48, were held Wednesday morning at 10 am. in the First Baptist Church. Church pastor, Rev. Norris Taylor, officiated.
Mr. Gage was found dead in his home about 10:15 pm. Monday. Justice of the Peace, John Nay is withholding a ruling in the death, pending an inquiry.
A farmer, Mr. Gage had lived in Dickens County all of his life. He was a member of the Lutheran Church.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Patty Cage, Spur; two sons, Tim and Jace Gage, both of Spur; five daughters, Mrs. Marilyn Chancey and Mrs. Elaine Hale, both of Lubbock; Mrs. Cindy Bilberry, Lawton, OK; Miss Jamie Gage and Miss Jod-Dee Gage, both of the home.
Five brothers, Charlie and Monroe Gage, both of Afton; Johnnie Gage, Stamford; R.O. Gage, Dallas and Gene Gage, Sherman; three sisters, Mrs. Bessie Donathan, Phoenix, AZ; Mrs. Grace Stephenson, Comfort and Mrs. Ruth Winfield, Delta, Utah, eight grandchildren.
Pallbearers included Buck Scot, J .W. Vickery Jr., Jack Condron, Wendall Norris, Clay Edwards and Bob Porter.
Burial was in Dickens Cemetery.

Mary Jane Garner was born Oct. 31 1927 in Iowa Park, the daughter of Keith and Katherine Clayton Garner. She was married to Barnie C. Gilmore Jr. on Jan. 2 1947 in Jacksboro.
Five children survive the couple. They are Barnie Cecil Gilmore III, 19 Jerry Keith, 17 Gayle Garner, 15, Lauren Kay, 14 and Janis Cheryl, 12.
Also surviving Mrs. Gilmore are her parents of Jacksboro; and here brother, Edward Garner of Amarillo.
Barnie C. Gilmore was born Jan. 9, 1928 at Graford, the son of B. C. and Florence Perkins Gilmore. He was an oil operator.
