Evans Lawrence Bissett was born July 30, 1924 in San Patricio county to parents Dudley and Leona Doan Bissett and attended school in Taft, Texas, graduating in 1941. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was the customer service manager when he retired after 34 years from McEvoy Wellhead Equipment Company.
He was predeceased by his brother, Joe Kelly Bissett and sister, Anita Frances Brown and is survived by his wife of 68 years Virginia Polk Bissett; daughter, Sharon Duffield and husband Jim; sons, Michael Bissett and wife Stephanie, Daryl Bissett and wife Jennifer, granddaughters Linley, Leslie and Jessica and grandsons Wade, Bryan, Evan, Sammy, Joey and Ethan as well as great grandchildren: Jake, Evelyn, Savannah, Sydney, Danielle and Kristen.
The family will receive friends at a visitation on Wednesday, September 29th beginning at 9:30am in the chapel of Waltrip Funeral Directors in Houston, where a service celebrating Mr. Bissett's life will begin at 10:30am, led by Reverend Cheryl Smith of Pasadena United Methodist Church.
Graveside services at Memorial Oaks Cemetery will follow at 12 noon under the auspices of the V.F.W Post #8790, who are providing military honors in recognition of Mr. Bissett's service to his country.

FRANKLIN Services for Pauline Hickman, 95, of Franklin are set for 11 a.m. Thursday at McCauley Funeral Home Chapel in Franklin.
The Rev. Jim Manning of First Baptist Church will officiate. Burial will be in Mount Pleasant Cemetery near Franklin.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday and from 9 a.m. to the time of services Thursday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Hickman died Monday in Bryan.
She was born in Thorndale and was a homemaker. She lived most of her life in Franklin.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin Bradley Hickman; a son, J.D. Hickman; and a daughter, Sue Lepley.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Paul and Frankie Hickman of Fort Worth; a son-in-law, Ralph M. Lepley of Conroe; a daughter-in-law, Marjorie Hickman of San Antonio; 10 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Barney Truelock, 84, of Clements, died June 9 in Lodi. He was born Dec. 10, 1921, in Texas.
Mr. Truelock married Ina Marie Moss in Texas in 1940. He served in the U.S. Army and moved to Clements in 1946. He was a rancher most of his life, having worked for Kenny Lane Ranches. He was an honorary member of the Clements Buckaroos and the Clements Volunteer Fire Department. He also was a volunteer caretaker at Glenview Cemetery in Clements.
Barney Truelock
Mr. Truelock loved animals and particularly enjoyed raising birds. He also liked to dance.
He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Ina Truelock, of Clements; son, Bobby Truelock, of Ione; sister, Oli Gage, of Texas; seven grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his son, Billy Truelock; brothers, Mack, Jay D., Ruthie, Fearl, Doc and Bill; and sisters, Virgie, Florene, Kelly and Mawdy.
A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Glenview Cemetery on Mackville Road in Clements. Visitation will be held from noon to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Lodi Funeral Home.
