Robert Louisa Petit, 75, died at Sabine Medical Center in Many
on Monday, May 2.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, May 5 at 2 p.m. at
the Lakeside Baptist Church with the Rev. Paul Ferrant
officiating. Burial will be in the Lakeside Cemetery under the
direction of the Warren Meadows Funeral Home of Many.
Survivors include his widow Jessie Sanders Petit of Many; four
sons, Donald Petit of Delores, Colorado, Dwight Petit of Houston,
Tex., Fred Petit of Pleasant View, Colorado, and Gary Petit of
Many; five daughters, Maxine Waller of Many, Bobbie Ann Haley of
Paris, Tex., Sue Driver of Dove Creek, Colorado, Freda Wentz of
Yakima, Washington, and Pamela Petit of Durango, Colorado; one
brother George Washington Petit of Archer City, Tex.; three
sisters, Lily Canada of Archer City, Tex. and Elggie Brand and
Mary Clinton, both of Wichita Falls, Tex.; 25 grandchildren; and
16 great grandchildren. Mr. Petit was preceded in death by two
daughters, Katherine Lewis and Ester Louderback.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and one sister.
Survivors: Husband of 55 years, J.D. Blankenship of Cleburne; sons, J.D. Blankenship Jr. and wife, Marsha, and Scooter Blankenship and wife, Kerri, all of Cleburne; daughter, Janice Kring of Fort Worth; sister, Willie Mae Smith of Joshua; three grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
