Obituary from FLETCHER HERALD Wednesday August 12, 1931. JOHN CONSTANT, who resided east of Fletcher, died at 11 o'clock Friday morning in the Newton Memorial hospital at Winfield, Kan. where he had gone a few days before for furthur treatment. Age 57 years 5 months and 11 days. The body was brought back Saturday and taken to his home where it remained untill Sunday afternoon. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. W. C. Dorsey in the Fletcher Christian Church at 3:30 o'clock Sunday afternoon, after which the body was interred in the Mountain View cemetery southeast of Fletcher. The Fletcher Odd Fellow lodge had charge of the services at the cemetery. He is survived by his wife and nine children, six sons and three daughters, they being Clarence of Fletcher, Russell of Spearville, Kan, Riley of Apache, Henton and Sherman of Fletcher, Mrs Helen Howell of Apache, Mrs Vivian Porter of Pauls Valley, and Miss Alyse and Alvin at home. One sister, Mrs Mollie Teter of Chetopka, Kan. and five brothers, Tom and O.L. of Ponca City, Frank of Blackwell, Robert of Hydro and James of near Fletcher. He also leaves 16 grandchildren. Deceased was one of the prominent farmers and fruit growers of Comanche county. For a number of years he took a great deal of interest in exhibiting his products at both the township and county fairs and he carried off many prizes. He was always ready and willing to five of his time and means to make these fairs a success. He always manifested a great community spirit. He was a member of Lawton Odd Fellow lodge. He joined the Christian church in Fletcher in the summer of 1927 and has lived adevoted Christian life.

Roy Howell
Roy B. Howell, 70, of Route 2, Elkhart, was pronounced dead upon arrival at a local hospital at 7:50 a.m. today after a short illness.
A native and lifelong resident of Anderson County, he was born August 2, 1901, son of the late Virgil N. Howell and Mrs. Mary Exa Wynne Howell. He was a retired farmer and carpenter.
Services are pending, and will be announced later by Hassell & Foster Funeral Home.
Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Mattie Ellen Howell of Elkhart; one son, Mitchell R. Howell, Bellaire; one daughter, Mrs. Terry Goodman, Palestine; seven brothers, Luther Howell, Olen Howell, Jack Howell, Eldred Howell, Carson Howell, and Hershell Howell, all of Baytown, and Travis Howell, Lake Charles, La., and five grandchildren.
The body will be at Hassell & Foster.
