Services for Mrs. Roy B. (Chunky), 85, of Elkhart, will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at First United Methodist Church in Elkhart with the Rev. Bobbie Weber and Dwight Blankenship officiating. Burial will be in Garden of Memories Cemetery in Elkhart under the direction of Bailey & Foster Funeral Home.
Mrs. Howell died Saturday at Memorial Hospital.
She was born in Tennessee on Oct. 17, 1903, a daughter of James Johnson and Nancy Jane Faulkner Hamilton. Mrs. Howell was a member of First United Methodist Church in Elkhart.
She is survived by a daughter, Zona Goodman of Palestine; a son, Mitchell R. Howell of Bellaire, a sister, Nancy Pate of Houston; and six grandchildren.
Mrs. Howell was preceded in death by her husband, Roy B. Howell, on Oct. 17, 1971.
Condolence calls will be received at the Howell residence in Elkhart, telephone 764-5134.

Funeral services for Clifford Carlton Howell, 63, of Elkhart, will be held at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday in the Hassell & Foster Chapel, Palestine. Rev. Billy Sanders will officiate and burial will be in Garden of Memories Cemetery, Elkhart.
Mr. Howell died following a month illness at 6:20 p.m. Monday in a Palestine hospital. He was born in Elkhart on January 2, 1900. Before retiring, Mr. Howell was an employee of the Humble Oil Refinery at Baytown for almost 30 years. He moved back to Elkhart six years ago.
Pallbearers will be Hollis Kirkwood, Oren Kirkwood, Gary Love, J. C. Shaver, Adam Killion, Joe Bailey Parker and Francis Bratz.
Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Leona Howell of Elkhart; two brother, H. L. Howell of Palestine and C. L. Howell of Palestine; one grandson, Joel Howell of Salinas, Calif.; four granddaughters Miss Julie Howell of Salinas, Calif., and the Misses Kresten, Tracie and Leslie Howell, all of Palestine; one brother, C. Final rites for Emmett Howell, a lifetime resident of Anderson County, will be held in the First Baptist Church of Elkhart Sunday at 3:30 p.m. with the Rev. U. Van Sickles officiating. Burial will be in the Elkhart City Cemetery with the Elkhart Masonic Lodge presiding at the graveside.
Mr. Howell, who had operated a service station in Elkhart for a number of years, died Saturday at 11:30 a.m. following an illness. He was 73.
He was a long time member of the Baptist Church and a member of the Masonic Lodge in Elkhart.

OBITUARY: Palestine (TX) Herald-Press, Tuesday, 27 December 1966:
RITES WEDNESDAY FOR MRS. FIELDS
Mrs. Etta Fields, 78, died this morning at 2:30 a.m. in the Palestine Nursing Home where she had resided for the past four and a half months.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. in the Bailey Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Otis Felton officiating. Burial will follow in the Elkhart Garden of Memories Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Roy Howell, Hershel Howell, Mildred Howell, Lee Weatherford, James Lanier and Raymond Kyle.
Mrs. Fields was born in Cleburne but had lived in Elkhart most of her life. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Elkhart. Her husband, N. B. Fields died March 9, 1951.
She is survived by one brother, V. M. Howell and several nieces and nephews including Mrs. Lee Weatherford and Mrs. C. D. Fryar, both of Palestine.

Mrs. Dessie Dyer, 54, died Tuesday at 4 p.m. in Elkhart after of an illness of some four weeks.
Services were planned for Wednesday at 2:30 p.m. at the Elkhart Baptist Church, with Rev. D. D. Sumrall officiating. Burial was to be in Elkhart cemetery.

Funeral services for Mrs. L. R. (Pink) Howell, 83, will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday in the Hassell & Foster Chapel. Rev. G. C. Hassell will officiate and burial will be in the Garden of Memories Cemetery, Elkhart.
Nephews will serve as pallbearers.
Mrs. Howell died following an illness at 2:20 a.m. today in a local nursing home. A native Texan, she was born March 16, 1876, and had lived in the Palestine area for over fourteen years.
Survivors are one son, L. B. Howell of Fort Worth; one daughter, Mrs. D. B. Farnsworth of Ft. Worth; three grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and a number of nieces and nephews.
The body will remain at Hassell & Foster until after services.
